Insert picture paste resize template merging slides
Hello,
My role involves me creating a single PowerPoint slide template that is sent out to a number of people. They then enter their own (varying) information and return it to me. I want to ensure that all slides are returned with as few differences as possible and I want to amalgamate them into one file as quickly as possible.
As such, I have two questions:
- When building the final presentation file, is there a way to easily merge the slides from a number of different files located within the same folder? I am aware of the Insert Slides From Files function yet there does not seem to be a step whereby all files can be inseted in one go. I need to insert the (slides from each) file one by one. Or is there?
- Recipients need to paste an image into their slides and send back to me. The images that they need to paste differ by slide. I currently receive slides where the image position and size differs. In the interest of maintaining a professional-looking final presentation I am keen to know if a picture box or similar tool can be saved into the template that I submit. This would then enable recipients to paste directly into this field and ideally the image would be automatically resized to my pre-sepcified dimensions. What are my options here? I should add that the images used are probably not saved but rather dragged or c&p'd from other documents.
Thanks
Chris
RE: Insert picture paste resize template merging slides
Hi Chris
You have some interesting problems!
With regard to inserting slides from multiple presentations into a single file, the short answer to your question is no - you can only insert slides from one file at a time. What you might prefer to do is instead of using the Insert - Slides from Files option, you can open more than one presentation in PowerPoint and go to Window - Arrange All. Then it is possible to drag and drop slides from one presentation directly into another using the Slides pane in both presentations as the area to drag from and drop into - this will take a copy of the slide/s that you drag and drop.
With regard to the pictures, I'm not sure you could set up an area in your template that people's pictures would go directly into - especially since they are likely to be using a variety of methods to get the pictures into the presentation.
You could create a macro that you can use on your computer that you could run to reposition images that have already been put into slides.
I hope that these suggestions may go a little way towards making your life a bit easier!
thanks
