compressing images within powerpoint on the mac. is this possible? also, embedding flash into ppoint on a mac

RE: powerpoint

Hi Gary. Difficult to post screenshots to lead you through this, so here's a link culled from the net which I hope will point you in the right direction. Compression is possible, but the functionality is buried in a different place in the software:

http://groups.ucanr.org/csatwork/CS @Work_June_2003/Cut_PowerPoint_Files_Down_to_Size.htm

Secondly, importing Flash animation seems to be an increasing headache as Adobe and Microsoft develop there products and there is information here that should help you out:

http://www.mackb.com/Uwe/Forum.aspx/powerpoint/2223/Suport-for-Flash-animation-swf-files-in-Powerpoint-2008

There appears to be no quick fix, so if you're desperate to include bespoke animations it might be an idea to convert them to wmv/avi files and import that way. I have important swf files into earlier versions of Powerpoint on a PC myself, but security issues appear to be getting in the way nowadays!

Hope this helps,

Anthony

PowerPoint tip:

Open Presentation as a Show

To run any Presentation (.ppt) as a Show (.pps) When you select the Presentation in its folder, right click the icon and (****.pps) and then choose Show.
Shows (.pps) run in Slide Show view only, when the show ends or you press Esc, PowerPoint closes. Much more professional than going into a folder hunting for your presentation, opening PowerPoint and then switching to Slide Show View.
