How do I create a Master template?

RE: Master Template

Dear Karen

Thank you for attending PowerPoint Inter - Adv Course!! I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.

I am not sure if you want to know how to create a Slide master or a Template file.

Well actually they interlink so normally what you would do is create new blank file and create all the masters that you need and then save the file as a Template file.

To create a Masters you have to follow these steps:

1. View > Master > Slide Master

2. If you need to create another Master then you need to click on the Insert new Slide Master Button

3. Customize your master by adding Logo or changing the colours of the titles, etc...

NB: If you do create different masters then please ensure that you preserve the masters and also rename them with appropriate names.

4. Close the master View.

5. Choose File > save As...

6. Type the name for the file and ensure that you choose Design Template (*.pot) from the save as Type drop down box.

7. Press save.

In the future when you need to create a new [presentation based on your customized template file you choose File > New...

Choose General Template from the new from Template section on the task bar on the right hand side.

I hope this has answered your query.

If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!

Kindest Regards
