Filtering data

If you have a data set and then filter numerical data in ascending/descending order, how can you return to the original order the data was manually entered in to the spreadsheet in the first instance? Hope you follow this! Just had an issue with this at work yesterday. thanks.

RE: filtering data

Hello Tim
Thank you for your question

Unfortunately excel doesnt store the original order after a save, you would need to still be able to select undo which you cant do after a save. I would recommend always taking a copy of the worksheet you are working on and using that to format until you are happy its exactly as you want. That way you can convert back to the original if you need to.

If this resolves your question, please mark it as resolved. If not, please reply with more information.

Kind regards
Cress

Excel tip:

Display Formulas Instead of Results in Excel 2010

By pressing Ctrl ~ once, Excel will display formulas rather than the results of the formulas. Press it again, and the results will appear again.

A much quicker and simpler way of displaying your formulas!
