When dividing two cells, there is a problem trying to format the result as a percentage.

RE: Word tables

Hi Susan,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

I have looked at the problem we encountered today and found out that you need to divide the two cells first and multiply the answer by 100. Then change the number format as a percentage (0%). So go to Table, then Formula and follow the instructions below:

e.g. =(a1/a2)*100, then change the number format to 0% and click OK.

I hope this answers your question.

Regards

Simon

Word tip:

Configure paste options in Word 2010

When you copy text and paste it into Word, the formatting is the same as where you copied the text from originally. You can change it to match the formatting of the current document but to avoid having to do this every time you paste text, follow the following steps:

1) Click the Office button
2) Then Word Options
3) Go to Advanced
4) Under the Cut, copy and paste heading, use the first four drop-down menus to choose a default setting for format pasting.
