Digital Signatures - Word, Excel, Powepoint and Acrobat

Hi there, we are working on a quality control project for Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe involving electronic or digital signatures. Couple of questions:

how do we create them?

How do we add our signature to a document as certification that we have signed off on its contents? Note that this is not just adding in a scan of our physical signature, but a system of certifying that we vouch for the document content - only the person who owns the signature should be able to add it to the document and the document should be locked down after the signature has been added.

Is there any way of automatically removing electronic signatures if the document is edited after sign-off?

Thanks

Susan

RE: Digital Signatures - Word, Excel, Powepoint and Acrobat

Hello Susan

Thank you for your question.

This is something that we would advise on in a consulting capacity as it would require dedicated time from a trainer with knowledge in this area, possibility having to advise on this within the parameters of your particular systems.

If you would be interested in taking this forward, please contact our enquiries team to discuss.

Kind regards
Amanda

RE: Digital Signatures - Word, Excel, Powepoint and Acrobat

Hi there
Thanks for this note - I spoke with Tristan a couple of weeks ago and a trainer was going to contact me. Unfortunately I have heard nothing further and would be grateful if someone could contact me early in the New Year. This is a quality control project that needs to be completed by July 09 and at the moment, we are unable to proceed until I have spoken with a trainer.

Thanks

Susan

Microsoft Office tip:

Prevent macros from running when you start Applications

Macros are automated programs that can help you speed up your work. They can be embedded in caommands like AutoExec which will make them run as soon as an application like MS Word or MS Access are launched.
Sometimes it is useful to be able to switch off this function, and then can be done by the following method.
Hold down the SHIFT key when you click on the icon to start the program. This will suppress any automated macros.
