Toolbar

When creating a customised toolbar, how many items can you place in a customised toolbar? Also, can you leave it floating or can I attach it to the side?

RE: Toolbar

Hi Amy, Thanks for your question, concerning the customised toolbar, you can attach it to any of the four sides of your workspace by dragging it from the floating option to the side of your choice. How many items? Well I suppose that depends on how many you require, there is no upper limit other than the size of your screen, however if you require a lot of non standard buttons you could create multiple toolbars each with a concept/reason and add the buttons that you feel apply to that concept. Dont forget that by going to View, Toolbars you can see other hidden toolbars which might fit your requirements.

Excel tip:

Quickly insert a function

In Excel 97 and 2000 it was known as the Paste Function dialog box, these days it's known as the Insert Function dialog box. Regardless, one has to choose Insert|Function. or the fx button to open it up. There is, however, a non-mousey way to get hold of the Insert Function dialog box: press Shift+F3 in a blank cell to open the Insert Function dialog.

Press Shift+F3 after a function name and open bracket to open the Function Arguments dialog. For example, type =VLOOKUP( into a cell and press Shift+F3 to obtain a detailed description of VLOOKUP's arguments.
