How to remove a music note like symbol

My name is Greg and I am one of the trainers at Best. The way to remove the paragraph marking ("music note" as you described it) is to click on the Show/Hide button on the Standard Toolbar. The Show/Hide button is the one that looks like the "music note" and that will remove it.
