Logo / Picture

Hi,

I've input a picture that I'd like to use as a logo - I've made it washed out and put it to the back but would now like to change it's position on the slide.

Currently, it is on the bottom centre of the slide but I would like to put a border and the picture then goes outside the border.

I cannot change the border as the bottom line disappears every time I try to enlarge it.

I would appreciate it if you could let me know how I can edit this logo?

thanks

RE: Logo / Picture

Hi Monica

Thank you for your question.

Is the border you have put on applied to the picture or is it a separate border/box that you have drawn on the slide?

Amanda

RE: Logo / Picture

It is a separate border - the picture has 'washout' applied to it and has been 'sent to the back'.

RE: Logo / Picture

OK, if you try the following, see if you can move the border around without it bottom of it disappearing off the edge of the slide:

1. Go to the Drawing Toolbar, click the Draw button and select Grid and Guides.
2. Remove the tick from Snap objects to grid and click OK.

RE: Logo / Picture

Hi,

Sorry, that hasn't really worked - however it's the picture that I'd like to edit / delete - that's been washed out and sent to the back.

Is there any way of editing this?

Many thanks,
Monica

RE: Logo / Picture

Sorry, I misunderstood the question.

Are you having trouble selecting the picture since it is buried behind other things on the slide?

RE: Logo / Picture

Sort of - it's not buried behind on all slides. I've input it on a master slide - behind the footer. So it appears on every single slide automatically.

I can select the footer but not the picture that's now 'behind it'.

Is there a way of getting to it?

RE: Logo / Picture

Yes, if you make sure you have nothing selected on the master slide, then press the Tab key until you can see the picture is selected.

Then you can either press Delete to get rid of it, or once it is selected, bring up the Picture toolbar and click the Format Picture button so you can change the effect applied to the picture.

I hope this helps, I'm leaving the office now and will be able to pick up posts again on Thursday.

Have a good night
Amanda

RE: Logo / Picture

This is perfect!!! Exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks so much Amanda!

Monica

PowerPoint tip:

Capture Screenshots in Powerpoint 2010

A great new feature to Powerpoint 2010 is the "screen clipping" command. This allows you to capture an image on your screen directly via powerpoint.

Go to your insert tab on the ribbon and in the images box you will see "sreenshot", click on the arrow and select "screen clipping". Powerpoint will minimise and you will be taken to the next open application or your desktop. Wait a few seconds a your screen will grey out a little and your mouse curser will turn into a + sign. Hold your mouse down and select the area you wish to capture. When you let go of your mouse the selected area will be exported into your powerpoint presentation as an image which you can edit.

It really simple and very effective, give it a go!

This feature is also available on Excel and Word.
