how do you clculate time after 24 hours?

RE: times

Hi Paul,

Hope you enjoyed the Excel Intermediate training.

Thanks for the question, and welcome to the forum.

Make the answer cell (eg. C1) to be date/time 1 - date/time 2
eg. =B1-A1

Select C1
Go to Format -> Cells
Select Number tab and choose "custom" in category.
Enter the text "[h]:mm:ss;@" in type text box.
It should show you how many hours have passed.

I hope this answers your question?

We look forward to answering any future questions you may have about your course.

Regards, Rich

Excel tip:

Separate the year from a date

To separate the year from a date use the =year() function, eg a date is in cell A1 and in A2 you wish to display the year enter the function =year(A1)
