How do you add to dates

RE: Dates

Hi Helen

Thank you for your question and welcome the forum.

You can use dates as part of formulas in Excel, as Excel stores a date as a number (or value).

For example if you have entered today's date into cell A1, you can create a formula reading =A1+30 which will add 30 days to the date in cell A1, and give you the date which is 30 days after this date.

Excel tip:

Display Functions on Worksheets

Functions in Excel can be difficult to recall their format/syntax

For example, you want to use the =PMT function.

Enter =PMT, then select keystroke, CTRL+SHIFT+A.

This usful memory jog, will display the arguments of a function on a worksheet, allowing the user to proceed with the generation of the function
