Multiple excel spreadsheets

How do you link worksheets which changes every month, to produce a report? Figures that change every month are the Regional and Yearly figures. These are then link to various other files, which we would extract the data from. But our problem is that there are too many files. Is there an easier method of doing this?

RE: Multiple excel spreadsheets

Hello Joy

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

I would suggest that this may not be so much an issue using specific feature(s) of Excel but may have more to do with how the data is organised.

I would be thinking about why the data is stored across so many different files; and could things be simplied by restructuring the data?

You will probably also find the Excel VBA course useful for being able to manage and collate a lot of data, once you have completed that course.

Excel tip:

Apply currency format quickly in Excel

To quickly apply the currency format to cell in your spreadsheet, select (highlight) the cells you wish to apply currency format to, then use Ctrl + Shift + $

This will apply a pounds symbol even though the $ key is pressed.
