Pivot table charts

Can you use corporate colours in the pivot table charts?

RE: pivot table charts

Morning Rachel,

You can change the colours but you have to watch out how you change it.

Once you have your chart make the relevent changes and then go to Chart Menu, Chart Options, in the bottom right click on "Set as default chart". Everytime you then do a new chart it will keep your colours, but also any changes made to the pivot chart are changed. If you do not set the default then if you change anything on the pivot chart such as choosing different options then you will lose everything you have done. This would only apply if you have clicked bar etc and changed the colour.

If this is for everybody in the company then you would need to speak with the IT department as they would need to change the global template.

Hope this helps
Regards
Martin

Excel tip:

Hide data in Excel Worksheets

Let's say you have some data in cell 'C5' you would like to hide from the casual viewer.

Click cell 'C5' to select it.

Click the 'Format' menu, select 'Cells'. When the 'Format Cells' dialogue box opens, click the 'Numbers' tab (if necessary), then select 'Custom' from the 'Category' list.

Double-click the 'Type' entry box and type three semi-colons: ";;;"

Click 'OK' to close the dialogue box and accept the new formatting.

The data in cell 'C5' disappears. It's still there and will work in calculations, but it isn't visible.

If you need to check the data, just click the blank cell and the contents appear in the 'Formula bar'.
