how do you see the file path on the print

RE: file path

Hi Yamuna,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum,

To display the file path in your Worksheet try this: =CELL("filename")

If as you request you wish to see the file path in your print out;

Select the menu command File>Page Setup, In Page Setup select Header/Footer tab, select either header or footer where you wish your file path to display and using the drop down selection scroll until you see your required entry.
Select it to enter it.
Alternatively you could click Custom Header or Footer and using the buttons insert your required information in the position you require.

I hope that has helped. regards Pete

Excel tip:

Hiding Formulae in the Formula Bar

It is possible to protect the contents of a cell reference(s) from amendment by applying cell protection. The contents of the cell reference can also be stopped from displaying in the formula bar.

Step 1: Select Format > Cells > Protection.

Step 2: Tick Hidden option. Ensure Locked is ticked

Step 3: Select Tools > Protection > Protect Sheet

(Ensure "Protect worksheet and contents of locked cells" is ticked)
