I want to use pictures from the internet in my ppt presentations. How do I copy and save a photo (say, from BBC News) onto my system and then incorporate onto a ppt slide please?

RE: ppt

Hi Roger, Thank you for your post, in response;

Firstly you must take into account Copywrite laws when using photos and other information from the web. But say for example the photo is in the public domain and is not copywrite.

Open your Web browser and find the photo that you wish to use, right click on it and choose the option Copy, return to a folder on your computer and right click Paste. You can then rename the photo/picture to something relevant;

When you wish to incorporate it into a slide, use the option, Insert Picture>From File and navigate to your chosen picture and Insert it.

A little trick that I use a lot is to first draw a graphic, either a rectangle, an oval or any graphic from the Drawing Toolbar options, then right click and choose Format AutoShape option, in the Fill Color option click the drop down and choose Fill Effects from the tabs choose Picture, navigate to your picture and click Insert. You will find that the Picture only fills the chosen size and shape of your graphic, this eliminates the bothersome re-sizing that can take place if you have a large graphic.

I hope that has helped, regards Pete
