RE: Slide MAsters

Dear Catherine

Thank you for attending PowerPoint 2007 Intro and Adv. course. I hope that you benefited from it.

Masters can be bit tricky especially in 2007 with the introduction of creating your own customized layouts. However, the basic fact is that you use Masters when you want to make changes that will affect all or most of your slides in the presentation!
Slide Master is used for making universal change to the styles such as background, color, fonts, effects, placeholder sizes, and positions of every slide in the presentation! It stores information about the themes and the layouts of a presentation!
To access the Slide Master you click on the View Tab on the Ribbon. Choose Slide Master from the Presentation Views Group.
Please note that it is better to create a slide master before you start to build individual slides, rather than after. When you create the slide master first, all of the slides that you add to your presentation are based on that slide master and the associated layouts. If you create a slide master after you build individual slides, some of the items on the slides may not conform to the slide master design. You can override some of the slide master customizations on individual slides by using the background and text formatting features, but others (such as footers and logos ) can be modified only in Slide Master view.
Following are the actions that you can perform when you are in the Slide Master:
Create new customized layouts
Create more than one Slide Master
Rename, Preserve, delete Masters
If you require further information about any of the above mentioned Master actions then please reply to this post and I
