Excel

When you hide some columns on the worksheet and then copy the remaining data you see to another workseet, hidden colums turn up as well! How to copy the data without the hidden colums?

RE: excel

Copy everything and go to paste and paste special. Select column widths first. No data will appear, but the column widths will all be the same. Paste again and this time the data will show. All data will still be there, but it will still be hidden. No way round this, if you dont want all the collumns then use the Ctrl key - hold it down when you are copying the columns to select only the required columns

Excel tip:

Turn off AutoComplete in Excel

You may have noticed when typing into your spreadsheets that if you start to enter labels that begin with the same letters as a label that has been previously entered in the same spreadsheet, Excel will try and automatically complete the text for you. This feature is called AutoComplete.

If you find this feature more annoying than useful, you can turn it off by:

1. Going to Tools - Options.

2. Select the Edit tab.

3. Remove the tick from next to the "Enable AutoComplete for cell values" option.

4. Click OK.
