What is a PivotTable?

RE: EXCEL 2007

Hi Hijiri, Thank you for your post, In answer to your question, a Pivot Table is an interactive worksheet table that can summarise large amounts of data using the views and permutations that you choose. It is called a Pivot Table because you can rotate its row and column headings around the core data to give you different views of the source data. As the source data changes you can update the pivot table, a pivot table can be used as a source for a pivot chart. I hope that makes it clearer. best regards Pete.

Excel tip:

Display Functions on Worksheets

Functions in Excel can be difficult to recall their format/syntax

For example, you want to use the =PMT function.

Enter =PMT, then select keystroke, CTRL+SHIFT+A.

This usful memory jog, will display the arguments of a function on a worksheet, allowing the user to proceed with the generation of the function
