How do I animate a chart?

RE: Powerpoint

Hi Arunima

Thank you for your question.

You can animate a chart by:

1. Right-clicking on the chart and choosing Custom Animation from the shortcut menu.

2. The Custom Animation task pane will open on the right hand side of your screen. At the top of the task pane, click the Add Effect button and choose an effect to apply to the chart.

3. Once an effect has been applied, it will show as a box in the task pane area. Click the dropdown arrow next to the box and select Effect Options.

4. In Effect Options, go to the Chart Animation tab and try chaging the Group Chart: setting to change the animation.
Speed can be changed by going to the Timing tab and increasing the Delay.

I hope this helps.

Amanda

PowerPoint tip:

Use Format Painter to copy formatting to multiple pieces of text

The format painter tool provides a quick and easy way to copy formatting from one piece of text to another in PowerPoint.

The only problem is that if you click the Format Painter once to turn it on, you can only click and drag over a single piece of text; then the Format Painter turns itself off automatically.

If you want to copy formatting to more than one piece of text, double-click the Format Painter - this way you will be able to copy formatting to multiple pieces of text.

When you have finished using Format Painter, press the Esc key or click on the Format Painter button once to turn it off.
