RE: PP - excel table
Hi Chadia,
Thank you for your question to the forum.
You have 3 options:
Option 1: Copy and Paste as a Table in PowerPoint.
This is best when you want to edit the table directly in PowerPoint.
1. In Excel, select the cells you want to use.
2. Copy the range (Ctrl + C)
3. Open PowerPoint and go to the target slide.
4. Paste the data (Ctrl + V)
Choose Use Destination Styles from the paste options if you want the table to match the PowerPoint theme.
Pros:
Editable in PowerPoint.
Adopts presentation formatting.
Cons:
Changes in Excel won't update the PowerPoint table.
Option 2: Paste as a Linked Excel Object.
Best when the Excel data changes regularly.
1. Copy the range in Excel (Ctrl + C)
2. In PowerPoint, select Home > Paste > Paste Special.
3. Choose Paste Link.
4. Select Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object.
Pros:
Updates automatically when the Excel source file changes.
Maintains Excel formatting.
Cons:
Requires access to the original Excel file.
Can break if the file is moved or renamed.
Option 3: Paste as a Picture.
Best for presentations where formatting is more important than editing.
1. Copy the cells in Excel.
2. In PowerPoint, select Paste Special.
3. Choose Picture (Enhanced Metafile) or PNG.
Pros:
Looks exactly like the Excel table.
Cannot accidentally be edited.
Cons:
Data cannot be modified inside PowerPoint.
Hope this helps
Kind regards
