How do you put apps on desk top?

RE: Apps

Hi Frances,

So glad you found the forum and are using it. That is exactly what it is intended for. Hope you enjoyed yesterday's course.

To answer your question on how to add apps to the Desktop:
1. Click on the Start button on the bottom left of your screen
2. Don't search for your app as we did in the course, instead:
3. You need to navigate your start menu to get to the app you wish to add to your desktop
4. Once you located the app in your start menu, hold your left mouse button down on the app's icon and drag the app icon from your start menu onto your desktop
5. A shortcut will be created on the desktop

I hope this helps you.

Frances could I ask you to mark the question as 'Resolved' if this solves your query. Otherwise, reply to this message if this is not what you wanted to do.

Kind regards

Ron

Microsoft Office tip:

Using the Quick Access Toolbar in Office 2010

The Quick Access Toolbar is included in virtually every Office product, including Outlook 2010, Word 2010, Excel 2010, and PowerPoint 2010.

You will find the Quick Access Toolbar in the top-left side of the window. To begin, click the Customize button (it's the little black arrow at the end of the toolbar).

Simply click the commands you want to include.

Virtually any command can be added to the Quick Access Toolbar. Click the More Commands option and a new window will open from where you can browse the commands including those not on the ribbon.
