What is the difference between a variable and a variant in VBA?

A Variable is a place to store a piece of information in the computer's memory.

Declaring a variable reserves an area in memory to store the value connected with the variable. When declaring a variable you have to declare adata type eg. Currency

A Variant is essentially a universal data type. It can contain any kind of information and represent any data type
