Templates

We are looking for a way to have our branded templates to open from the 'New' menu - preferably first thing without having to click on any folders / links. In word you had to amend a registry key, but PPT seems to be different?

RE: Templates

Hi Mike

To set it as the default you need to Save it in the Hidden Microsoft Template Directory.

First you need to save your PowerPoint as a Template.
File/Save As
Change the type to PowerPoint Template
Call it "Blank.potx"

If click on the file path box above and type %appdata% and press enter it will take you to the Hidden Roaming User Profile

In that Folder you need Microsoft/Templates

Save or move your PowerPoint "Blank.potx" in there.

Now when you open PowerPoint it will display on the New PowerPoint page as Default Theme

PowerPoint tip:

Checking for spelling errors in embedded or linked objects

The spellcheck in PowerPoint will only pick up errors in text typed directly onto PowerPoint slides - it will not pick up errors in any embedded or linked objects that have been brought into the presentation from another application.

To ensure the entire content of your presentation is error-free, use spellcheck in the application you are importing information from before embedding or linking objects into PowerPoint.
