Ratio

Trying to display a ratio. I would like the standard ratio format e.g. 1:2 and the numbers to be rounded to whole units and in their lowest form.
At the moment i get long numbers which look meaningless and long decimals e.g.234.2345:5678.567

Please could you help with an excel solution and a VBA solution.

Thanks

RE: Ratio

Hi Richard

Thanks for getting in touch. Is the ROUND suite of functions any use to you?

You use them like so:

=ROUND(300.125,2)

Will result in 300.13

=ROUND(299.44,0)

Will result in 299

=ROUND(299.8,0)

Will result in 300.

There are also ROUNDUP and ROUNDDOWN which round up or down respectively as required.

You can also embed cell references and other functions inside the formula.

Kind regards
