How can I record a video demo to use when I am presenting?

RE: 'Film My Desktop'

Hello Mike,

Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft PowerPoint course with Best STL.

Thank you for your question regarding how to film your desktop.

There are many screen capture programs available which do this type of thing. Some are free and some have to be paid for. Some of the paid versions have a free basic version and a paid for professional version.

Some names I know of : Camstudio / Camtasia / Snagit

Try the following link for a review of screen capture programs some of which have video capture.

Don't forget, if you want to create a video of your slide presentation, click File > Save & Send > File Types > Create a Video. I have used this before and uploaded the video to YouTube.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.

Another great program to record desktop/webcam and have different 'scenes' and sources all in one is OBS studio, which is free.

PowerPoint tip:

Checking for spelling errors in embedded or linked objects

The spellcheck in PowerPoint will only pick up errors in text typed directly onto PowerPoint slides - it will not pick up errors in any embedded or linked objects that have been brought into the presentation from another application.

To ensure the entire content of your presentation is error-free, use spellcheck in the application you are importing information from before embedding or linking objects into PowerPoint.
