How can I put a pre excisting slide from anther presentation into a the middle of new powerpoint presentation without upsetting it or loosing the old slide and will this copy over the old formatting?

while you are in the existing slide show go to insert, slides from files, browse, select the presentation you wish to insert the slide from, and choose the slide from the ones in the preview box, be careful not to select all before clicking ok.
