How do you create faded pictures

RE: Pictures

Hello Helen,

Hope you enjoyed your Microsoft PowerPoint course with Best STL.

Thank you for your question regarding creating faded (transparent) pictures.

There are 2 ways you can do this:-

1) Insert your picture into the slide. Select the picture and from the Picture Tools tab click Picture Effects on the Picture Styles group. On the Preset section click 3D Effects and locate the Surface section. Click the Material button and click the bottom middle button found in the translucent section.

This will give your picture some transparency but is limited by the few settings available.

2) The other way of adding transparency to a picture is to first create a drawing which can be made transparent after you have inserted your picture into the shape. Start with a rectangle (or any other shape) then right-click on the shape and choose Format Shape. In the Fill section choose Picture or Texture Fill. Then browse to your picture file by clicking the File... button. Select the picture you want and then click Insert. At the bottom of the fill settings you will find the Transparency slider. 50% is a good transparency setting, however, simply adjust it according to your own tastes. Click close when you are done with the settings. You may want to remove the border of the rectangle before or after adding the picture.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

Here are some handy shortcut keys for rearranging bullet points on your slides.

Simply click anywhere within the bullet point you wish to reposition; then hold down Shift + Alt then use the Arrow Up or Arrow Down key depending on which direction you want to move the bullet point in (up or down).

The bullet point will move up or down one bullet point at a time.
