Hi,

I am trying to insert a chart into a pp presentation, not from excel but using the insert chart functionality in powerpoint, can you please advise me how I name the x and y axes.

Thank you for your question regarding the naming of axes in powerpoint charts.

The best way to achieve this is to:

- select the chart (this will open the chart tools on the ribbon)

- Select the 'Layout' tab

- Select Axis titles from the labels group

To name the X axis

- select 'Primary Horizontal Axis' - 'Title below axis'

- Type the name of the axis, hit enter & the name will be inserted

To name the Y axis

- select 'Primary Vertical Axis' - selecting the preferred style

- Type the name of the Y axis, hit enter & the name will be inserted.

NB When selecting the postioning of either the X or Y title, at the bottom of the menu you will also have a command for more options, this will present more options on formatting the titles.

PowerPoint tip:

Covert slide into JPEg image

To convert a slide into a JPEg, click on the slide, click on File save as, change the type to JPEG.

When you click on save you will be asked to save the slide you on top jpeg or the whole presentation
