Inserting pictures

What is the most efficient way or inserting a picture - should it be .jpg or .gif? I am thinking of size of file

RE: inserting pictures

Hi Carol

Thanks for your question.

A .gif file will generally be a smaller file size than a .jpg however the quality of a .gif image may not be as good as a .jpg depending on the particular image in question.

What you can do to help reduce the overall size of a PowerPoint file that contains a lot of images is to use the 'Compress Picture' button on the Picture toolbar - if you click on this button this then gives you the option to compress all the images in a presentation and reduces the overall PowerPoint file size.

I hope this helps.

Amanda

PowerPoint tip:

Saving a Drawn Object as a picture

If you want to reuse an object that you have drawn, you can save it so that it is added to the Clip Organiser.
Right click the object, choose Save as Picture, give it a file name and place it in the relevant location.
