How do I change the colouring and pattern of the background of a slide
RE: Background
Hi Dee,
Right click in 'white-space' on your slide to bring up a context menu. (don't right click on a text box or picture, cause the context will be specific for that element).
Alternatively, right click on your slide in the Slide thumbnail view on the left sidebar.
Either way, from the context menu, choose Background...
From the small dialogue box that appears, you can use the drop down colour box to select a colours, and go to More colours... for a whole range of colours.
This is also where you would find and change the patterns.
Click the Apply To All button to set this colour to all your slides, or change the background colour on your master slide.
I hope this helps.
Good luck with your slideshow.
Regards, Rich
