Macro to reset drop down list

Hi

I would like to create a macro that resets a drop down list to a default value.

For example I have created an spreadsheet with a list of countries in a drop down list and the default value is 'please select a country'. I would like to the user to be able to clear the sheet each time they use it and have the drop down list value reset to 'please select a country'.
I've already created a macro that clears the other inputs on the sheet.
Many thanks

Angela

RE: Macro to reset drop down list

Hi Angela

Thank you for your question

There are several possible approaches to this problem. It is however difficult to advise without seeing the spreadsheet in question as its layout and existing code are important considerations

If you can email me a copy to stephen@stl-training.co.uk, I can then investigate and advise

Regards

Stephen

Excel tip:

Conditional Formatting in Excel 2010

If you have lots of data in a spreadsheet, you may find that it is easier to read if you highlight some of the values. This is Conditional Formatting and here's how to use it:

1) Select the data you wish to apply the format to and click Conditional Formatting
2) A list of options will then appear, from this list, choose the format you wish to display e.g. find all cells with a value less than 0
3) Excel will then highlight all of these cells

To remove this: select the highlighted cells, click the drop down on the Conditional Formatting icon and select Clear Rules from selected cells.
