Which sorts of files could I download from the internet in video format to include in my animated presentation?
RE: Downloading media
Hi Sarah
Thank you for your question. PowerPoint will work best with movie files in Windows media, MPEG or AVI formats. If you have media in other formats you may be able to get them converted to a format supported by PowerPoint. Alternatively you can have a link to a movie of any format but when the link is followed PowerPoint will launch the appropriate application to play the video rather than have it embedded in the presentation.
If your presentation will run on MACs as well as windows MPEG or AVI will work best as the Windows media format is not natively supported.
A search on the internet will return many file converters. It goes without saying that you also need to have the copyright owner's permission to use their material.
I hope this helps - do let us know if you have any further questions.
Kind regards,
Andrew
