How do I use Header outlines from a word document in my Powerpoint Presentation?
RE: Headers
Hello Katie
Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.
I assume you are referring to using Heading styles in Word and exporting an outline of the Word document to PowerPoint?
If you format headings in a Word document using Heading styles (Headings 1, 2, and 3) then you can export the Word document to PowerPoint and it will use these headings to create slides and bulleted points for you.
To apply heading styles in Word:
1. Place your cursor within the heading you want to apply a heading style to, go to Format-Styles and Formatting. A task pane will open on your screen.
2. Click on the Heading style you wish to apply.
3. When finished save your Word document in outline view (View - Outline) as an .rtf (rich text format) file.
To export the Word document to PowerPoint:
1. In PowerPoint, go to Insert - Slides from Outline.
2. Navigate to and select the .rtf file, and click the Insert button.
