What file type does a movie/dvd need to be in order to insert it succuessfully into PowerPoint?

RE: Multimedia in PowerPoint

Hi Gemma

The best file types to use in a PowerPoint Presentation are as follows

MPEG, AVI or WMF

All of these files will work very well within a presentation, you can insert files from the gallery and they will run automatically, if you insert movie file that you have on DVD then when you run the slide show you will need the DVD in the drive or this will not work correctly.

If you want to save this file on your hard drive and insert it into your PPT then make sure your PC or Laptop has a high spec.

There is another way to run a video clip you could hyperlink it through PowerPoint so that when you click the link this will take you to a real player or media player which will keep your PPT from running slowly

Hope this helps
