Because appearance means everything in modern day business, you’ll want to make sure that you dress right for the occasion. Outlook 2013’s new Calendar view will give you all the information you need to plan your day’s schedule or your next trip.
The temperature defaults to Fahrenheit which can be changed easily.
How to: File > Options > Calendar > Weather.
Our top tip: If you live in England, always take an umbrella with you.
Social networking is an important part of modern day business. Microsoft have recognised this and redesigned Outlook around your favourite platforms, LinkedIn, Facebook and others. Get the updates that you want from the people that you trust, right on time.
When you open an email in Outlook, the Outlook Social Connector is minimized as a single line at the bottom of the Reading Pane. To expand it, click the arrow or drag the top of the minimized pane up until it’s the size that you want.
If you cannot see the Reading Pane or People Pane do the following:
How to: Turn on the Reading Pane. View > Reading Pane, and then click Right or Bottom.
Turn on the People Pane. View > People Pane, and then click Normal or Minimize.
If you’re still experiencing problems, make sure your organisation lets you connect to the Internet. Many organisations don’t allow access to social networking sites outside of their intranet. Contact your network administrator for more information.
What the experts say:
“Social is rewiring the way we communicate and collaborate,” Microsoft SharePoint program manager Ben Wilde said on the company blog.
“This means you just have to sign-in once with your LinkedIn credentials and immediately you’ll start seeing rich profile information, like photos and LinkedIn network activity for any connection that emails you,” David Breger, Linkedin.
