Can you set security without closing the Access data base

RE: Setting security

Hi Ian

If you want to password protect a database it must be opened "Exclusive".

So if you haven't done this you need to close the Database and open it as Exclusive. To do this:

1. Click the Open button
2. In the Open dialog box select the required file.
3. Click the arrow next to the Open button
4. Select Open Exclusive

Hope this helps.

Regards

Carlos

Access tip:

Hiding Multiple Table columns

If you want to hide non-adjacent Access table columns. In Datasheet view, open the table that contains the columns you want to hide.

On the Format menu, click Unhide Columns.
In the Unhide Columns dialog box, clear the check box next to the name of each column you want to hide.
Click Close.

This method makes having to use the Hide Columns command repeatedly unnecessary
