INDIRECT()

INDIRECT()

Can you help me with this:

D1 contains "Jan 2017 NHSP Bookings"

This works (result is 126):

=VLOOKUP([@[Healthroster Unit]],'Jan 2017 NHSP Bookings'!$AR$4:$AU$90,4,FALSE)

This gives a #REF! error:

=VLOOKUP([@[Healthroster Unit]],"'"&INDIRECT("'"&$D$1&"'!"&"$AR$4:$AU$90"),4,FALSE)

RE: INDIRECT()

Okay, I spotted it! There shouldn't be anything before INDIRECT except the comma.

Excel tip:

Using basic functions without doing formulas

When you highlight figures Autocalc tells you the total in the bottom right of the screen, but if you right click on the sum it will give you some basic functions. The functions are Min, Max, Average, Sum, Count, and Count Nums.
