Email merge
Hi,
Could you please tell me if it is possible to do an email merge from a list of email addresses and names? We want each email to look personalised with a Dear <name> and showing their email in the To: field rather than send a generic email with all the addresses in the bcc: field
Thanks
Keely
RE: Email merge
Hi Keely
Yes you can do an E-Mail merge using Word 2007. The message then appears personalized and doesn't require the use of bcc.
You'll need an Excel file with a list containing first name, last name and their e-mail address. Alternatively you can use Outlook Contacts.
Start with a blank document in Word
Click on the Mailing tab.
Select Start Mail Merge, Step by Step Mailmerge Wizard.
Select the option E-mail Messages.
Click Next twice.
At Step 3 browse to your Excel file (or choose Outlook Contacts)
At Step 4 start creating your message
Hi <firstname> (Click More Item... to add <firstname> field)
type your message and your
usual signature or way of ending an email.
At Step 5 preview your e-mail message.
At Step 6 click Electronic Mail.
Add a Subject for your meassage
Note: As soon as you press OK your message will be sent to
all recipients!
Hope that helps. You could practice by sending a message to doug@stl-training.co.uk using e-mail merge!
