Outlook attachments

Is there a way of attaching an attachment from another email by dragging it? I've tried and it doesn't seem to work. Using Insert Item just attaches the whole email.

RE: Outlook attachments

Dear Diana

Thank you for attending Outlook Introduction course!! I hope you enjoyed the course and benefited from it.

If you are using one of the web based e-mail such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Googlemail, etc... then it will do what you have described. The main reason is that when the file is an attached in these e-mail it needs to be downloaded therefore drag and drop doesn't work.

But I am sure you must have tried the dragging and dropping method for the files in your My Documents or network drive and it seems to work fine because Outlook assumes them to be already downloaded.

The only suggestion I can provide you is to download the attachment to your desired destination and then use the drag and drop method.

I hope this has answered your query.

If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please post it as a new question and we should be able to provide you the solution for it!!

Kindest Regards

Outlook tip:

Using the Quick Access Toolbar in Outlook 2010

The Quick Access Toolbar is included in virtually every Office product, including Outlook 2010, Word 2010, Excel 2010, and PowerPoint 2010.

You will find the Quick Access Toolbar in the top-left side of the window. To begin, click the Customize button (it's the little black arrow at the end of the toolbar).

Simply click the commands you want to include.

Virtually any command can be added to the Quick Access Toolbar. Click the More Commands option and a new window will open from where you can browse the commands including those not on the ribbon.
