Access importing data

In our training course for employees there was a subject called Annual Reports where it allows you to insert words into the box. If for example these annual reports on employees are prepared in Word, is it possible to link these reports into Access?

RE: Access importing data

Hi Emma

Word will connect to Access to create a mail-merge. From Word go to the Tools menu then choose Letters and Mailings and Mail Merge Wizard.

The merge wizard appears in the task pane on the right of the screen. Step 3 of the wizard lets you choose your mail merge recipients - click on the browse link and navigate to find your access database. Choose your table or query with the recipients for your mailing then follow the rest of the wizard to complete your merge.

I hope this is helpful - do let us know if you have further questions.

Kind regards,

Andrew

Access tip:

Switchboard Startup

An option when you open your Access database that contains all of you tables, forms and queries is only the switchboard is displayed.

To achieve this, select Tools click on Startup. On the right hand side of the Startup screen you are able to select which form you want to open when you open you Access Database. Once you have selected this, there is a check box just below that says "Display Database Window", you need to uncheck this option. Then click ok.

Then when you close you Access database and re open it, the database should open with just the switchboard being shown
