Creating templates - footnote font style

Hi

One of my colleagues has created some Word templates. The font style for the template is Arial. We would like any footnotes/endnotes to also be in Arial but are unsure how to achieve this. They keep appearing as Calibri if we insert any. Is there a way to change the automatic font of a footnote/endnote please?

Thank you
Kathleen

RE: Creating templates - footnote font style

Hello Kathleen,

Thank you for your question. To change the default font of the footnotes in a Word template, you need to do the following:

1. In the original template, in the Home tab, in the Styles group, click the bottom right corner drop-down arrow.
2. In the Styles box that opens, click Options.
3. In the Style Pane Options box, set the first white field to All styles and click OK.
4. In the Styles box, scroll down to Footnote Text.
5. Right-click Footnote Text, then click Modify.
6. In the fonts field in the Formatting section, set the font to Arial.
7. When you click OK, this will change the default Footnote font in the template to Arial. Now simply save and close the template.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

Turning off the Drawing Canvas

Sick of the Drawing canvas appearing when you are attempting to create shapes from the Drawing toolbar in your Word document?

You can change the settings in Word to ensure that the Drawing canvas never bothers you again.

1. Go to Tools - Options.
2. Select the General tab.
3. Deselect 'Automatically create drawing canvas when inserting AutoShapes'.
4. Click OK.
