Excel Value Errors
Hi,
When one of our clients opens our spreadsheet they get #value error on 2 columns, which then affects several other cells. Before we send the sheet all formulas look fine and pull through the data correctly. Also when the client copies all cells (including the value error cells) in to a new sheet it then pulls through the data correctly without any value errors. Do you have any idea why this is happening? is there a setting on their side that needs changing?
We are using version 2010 and the client is using 2016.
Thanks,
Adam
RE: Excel Value Errors
Hi Adam,
Thank you for your post. This seems to be a common problem, especially when the file contains external links. When someone opens a file with 2016 which was last saved in 2010, Excel will try to update links instead of just showing the values. This results in the #VALUE errors.
My suggestion would be to change the formula results to values before sending the file to the client. If this isn't possible or it doesn't work, please post on our forum again.
Kind regards
Marius Barnard
