MS Office 2010

How do I save and distribute a slide master background to include corporate logos but have these locked down so users cannot edit or amend elements

RE: MS Office 2010

Hi Alan

I'm not aware of a way of locking the master to prevent it being edited but one approach that achieves a similar effect is to use a background image in your slide master that has all the elements you want to lock down.

A quick way to create this is to create a slide in normal view that contains the elements to be locked (logos etc). From the File menu choose save as then set the file type to gif (for drawing based slides or jpg for photo heavy slides.

PowerPoint will ask if you want to export the whole presentation to images. Choose the option to export the current slide.

Switch to your slide master and format the background to use this image.

I hope this helps - let me know if you have further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew
