How do you increase the number of files displayed in the file manual, How do you turn of grid lines

RE: excel 2003

Hi Tracey

Thank you for your question regarding recent files being displayed and the turning off of gridlines.

To customise the number of recent documents you have used being shown in the File menu:

- Open the Tools menu, selecting Options (bottom of the menu)
- Click on to the General tab, under the Settings section you should be able to see a tick box for 'Recently Used File List'. Tick this box and then using the spin box to the right increase the number to your preferred choice.

To turn off gridlines:

- Head back to the Tools menu, selecting Options (bottom of menu)
- Select the View tab
- Untick the tick box next to gridlines (under Window Options - bottom of the dialogue box.)

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post.

Kind Regards,

Excel tip:

Autonumber in Excel

To create an autonumber field, can use the Offset() function.

In cell A1, enter the number 1.
Then in cell A2, enter this formula:

=OFFSET(A2,-1,0)+1

Then copy the formula from cell A2, down as far as you need.
