PERT analysis

Can you explan PERT analysis

RE: PERT analysis

Hi Jonathan

Thank you for your question. PERT analysis stands for Program Evaluation Review Technique and is a tool to help estimate the duration for tasks.

From the View menu choose Toolbars > Pert Analysis

From here you can set your Optimistic, Pessimistic and Exptected durations for your task. Clicking on calculate will make Project work out a weighted average based on the three values to create a new estimated duration for your task.

I hope this helps - do let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

MS Project tip:

Typing Links Between Tasks

In the Entry table, use the Precessors column to type in links. Type the previous task's ID to link. To change the link, add FS (Finish-Start), FF (Finish-Finish), and so on, and + duration to add a Lag, or - duration for a Lead time. Example: for task 5, 4FS+1w ... task 4 preceeds task 5, finish to start, with a week lag between.
