What's the difference between V look up and H look up?

RE: Excel

Hello Nidaa

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

The VLOOKUP function is used when your data is arranged down columns, i.e. you have headings running across a row, with related data stored down the columns underneath.

The HLOOKUP function is used with your data is arranged across rows, i.e. you have headings running down a column, with related data stored across the rows beside the headings.

I hope this helps.
Amanda

Excel tip:

No Zeros

Want all the zeros in your worksheet to appear blank? Choose Tools/Options, Click on the View Tab, Deselect the Zero Values Option, Click OK.
Easy wasn't it? But be aware that these cells are not actually blank, they still contain the value zero. This is important because certain functions (ie AVERAGE) make a distinction between blank cells and those with a zero value.
