Animation

How do I animate presentations?

RE: animation

Open the presentation you want to add animation to and do one or both of the following:

Apply a preset animation scheme

If you only want to apply the animation scheme to a few slides, click the Slides tab, and select the slides you want.
On the Slide Show menu, click Animation Schemes.
In the Slide Design task pane, under Apply to selected slides, click an animation scheme in the list.
If you want to apply the scheme to all slides, click the Apply to All Slides button.

Apply a custom animation

In normal view, display the slide that has the text or objects you want to animate.
Select the object you want to animate.
On the Slide Show menu, click Custom Animation.
In the Custom Animation task pane, click ADD EFFECT , and then select the effect you want to create.

RE: animation

Hi Gill

Thanks for your question.

I would suggest applying animation to the Slide master (View-Master-Slide master) and using an animation scheme to apply animation. Animation schemes are available in the 2002/XP and 2003 versions of PowerPoint.

Once you are in the slide master, you can access animation schemes by going to Slide Show-Animation schemes on the menu.

The list of animation schemes will appear on the right of your screen, in the task pane area. Click on an animation scheme to preview it. When you've found one you like, click the Apply to all slides button underneath the list of animation schemes.

To see the animation effects on your presentation, close out of the slide master then put your presentation in slideshow view. You may find that you need to click the mouse to get some of the animation effects to work.

If you want to make the animations happen automatically (i.e. without clicking the mouse), then go back into the slide master and go to Slide Show - Custom animation. You will be able to see the animation effects that are applied to the slide master in the task pane area. You can change the settings for an animation effect by clicking on the dropdown arrow next to an effect.

Hopefully this will give you enough information to be able to apply animations, then it is really just a case of playing around with them to see how they work.

Please post again if you have any further questions regarding PowerPoint.

PowerPoint tip:

Open Presentation as a Show

To run any Presentation (.ppt) as a Show (.pps) When you select the Presentation in its folder, right click the icon and (****.pps) and then choose Show.
Shows (.pps) run in Slide Show view only, when the show ends or you press Esc, PowerPoint closes. Much more professional than going into a folder hunting for your presentation, opening PowerPoint and then switching to Slide Show View.
