Kelly has attended:
Excel Introduction course

Excel 2007

Can you tell me more about the basic functions, when would be best to use Excel?

RE: Excel 2007

Hiya Kelly

How are you today, hope you enjoyed the training course on Monday

The answer to your question about basic functions there are some examples below for you to look at and try them out

=b3+b4+b5+b6+b7+b8 will add up the cells
=sum(b3:b8) will do the same as above & easier to write
=average(b3,b7,g10,h5,d9) will calculate the average of the cell
=sum(b3,b7,g10,h5,d9) will do the same as the average but will add them up

If this has answered your query then I would request you to please mark the question as resolved!! If not and you have a specific question related to this then please click reply or post it as a new question and we should be able to answer that!!

Hope this helps

Excel tip:

How to Spell Check an Excel 2010 Worksheet

Excel 2010 does not automatically spell check a document. So, here's how to manually spell check a worksheet.

Either select the ''Review'' tab in the Ribbon, go to the ''Proofing'' section and click ''Spelling.'' Or, simply press F7.
