Font Size

Hello, is there a quick way of making sure that the fonts don't auto fit in all your slides without having to start from scratch?

RE: Font Size

Hi Fiona, thanks for the query and welcome to the forum. Believe it or not, there are three sides to this:

The first is what we did in class. In the slide master, right click on the placeholder of your body text, choose format shape and then the text box category, remove the shrink text on overflow option as we did in class. This will affect all slides generated from that layout from now on.

However, to switch off Autofit for the entire presentation, click "Options" under the Office Button, then click "Proofing." click the "AutoCorrect Options" button underneath the "AutoCorrect Options" menu. Select the "AutoFormat As You Type" tab and clear the check box next to "AutoFit body text to placeholder." No more pesky Autofit anywhere from now on!

Finally, if you need to fix some or all of the preceding slides select all or the relevant slides in the slide sorter, right click on them and choose Reset Slide. This should cause the Slide Master to reassert itself, causing text to overflow.

Hope this helps,

Anthony

Thanks Anthony.

PowerPoint tip:

Change the Print button so it brings up the Print dialogue box

If you want to bring up the Print dialogue box to check your print settings when you hit the Print button, do the following:

1. Right-click on the toolbar that displays the Print button.

2. Select Customise.

3. Click on the Print button on the toolbar to select it, then hold the left mouse button down and drag the button towards the screen below. The button should come off the toolbar.

4. In the Customise dialogue box on your screen, select the Commands tab.

5. Select File from the Categories list, and then locate the Print... icon (looks like the normal Print button, but the word Print has three dots following it).

6. Click on the Print... icon to select it, then use your left mouse to drag and drop the icon onto the toolbar at the top of the screen.

7. Close the Customise dialogue box.
