How do I ensure a black screen is left at the end of my presentation?

Easiest way is to create an extra slide and fill this last slide with a box filled with black, this slide can then be copied to other presentations you use, or if you want to turn the presentation black press control key with the letter b, this will turn the current slide black for the audience whilst you are in the screen show.

Make your PowerPoint presentation smaller

Choose "File", "Properties" and turn off "Save preview picture".

This also speeds up saving the file, as Powerpoint does not have to create the little image preview.
